GOD FORGIVE US, WE HAVE BURNT A SAINT
“A Saint is just a ghost that’s happy about it. And you’ll be a saint, Joan.”
Joan hears angels.
Joan is a Capricorn.
And Joan is dying today.
Of sound(ish) mind and barely legal age, Joan must complete her last will and testament. This is her story, about girlhood, godhood and begging to be believed.
God Forgive Us, We Have Burnt A Saint was first performed as part of the Bitesize Festival for Riverside Studios in 2023, where it received the “Most Innovative” award.
It was remounted in 2025 at Etcetera Theatre in Camden as part of the third Women’s Writers Festival
